MIMI is the fruit of a collaboration between 3 people of different origins and backgrounds:

Joan Sangenis:        Oenologist from Celler Cal Pla - Spain

Jacopo Renzetti:      Fine wine merchant - Italy

Ferdinand Mayr:       Winemaker and lecturer at the Austrian Wineakademie (WSET)

This new project has as its goal the production of Priorat wines with a clear definition of origin: unique wines showing a clear "sense of place". We try to blend only Garnacha and Cariñena grapes, in a classic expression of Priorat terroir. Garnacha delivers concentration and fruit expression and Cariñena underpins the blend with tannin structure and complexity, but we avoid Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah in order adhere to the traditional taste of Priorat. The selection of the best old vines and low production in terms of grapes and bottles are the other key characteristic of this new project. MIMI blends the know-how of Joan Sangenis in the vineyard, the technique and flair of Ferdinand Mayr in the winemaking and the marketing and presentational skills of Jacopo Renzetti.
